About Suits

The cut

Each suit is drafted from a house block chosen for your build and adjusted to your measurements. The jacket is made up with a canvassed chest rather than a fused one, so it keeps its shape over years of wear, and the collar, the buttonholes and the pick stitching along the edges are finished by hand.

The cloth

Worsteds for most of the year, high twists and linen for the summer, flannel and tweed for the winter. The books hold cloth from Italian mills such as Vitale Barberis Canonico and Reda, and you can bring your own cloth if it is suit weight and there is enough of it.

The fitting

The suit comes back for a fitting and is adjusted until the line is right; alterations at this stage are included. A first consultation takes about an hour, and the £50 that holds it comes off the suit.
