Sizing & fit

Made to measure means there is no size chart. There are only your measurements, and a house block chosen to suit your build.

A standard size is a compromise between a lot of different bodies. It is then cut into and padded out until it roughly fits one of them. We start from the other end: your measurements, and the block that already sits closest to your figure.

That block is adjusted rather than fought against, which is why a made to measure garment usually needs less alteration at the fitting than a bought one needs on the day.

Do I need to know my measurements first?
No. Measurements are taken at your first fitting and kept on file. All you need to bring is an idea of how you like a garment to sit.
What if I am between sizes?
There are no sizes to be between. The pattern is drafted to the figure in front of us, so half sizes and mismatched top and bottom halves are simply how most people are built.
Can you copy something I already own?
If a jacket or a pair of trousers fits you the way you want, bring it. We can take the shoulder, the balance and the rise from it and use that as the reference for the new garment.
What happens if my size changes?
Most tailoring carries enough inlay in the seams to be let out or taken in within reason. Bring the garment back and we will see what it will give.
