Cookie policy
Last updated September 2026
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) that this website uses. We do not use analytics, advertising or any third-party tracking, and nothing on this site follows you across other websites.
1. What we use and why
We only use storage that is either strictly necessary for the site to work, or that supports a feature you have chosen to use.
- Session cookie (private management area only): set when a member of staff signs in to the management area, so the site knows they are signed in. It is strictly necessary, is not set for ordinary visitors, and carries no tracking information. Exempt from consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
- Wishlist (browser local storage, key "carnegie:wishlist"): stores the list of items you save while browsing, on your device only. It is set only when you save an item. It is never sent to us and is not shared.
- Cookie notice preference (browser local storage, key "carnegie:cookie-notice"): remembers that you have seen and closed the notice at the bottom of the page, so it does not reappear on every visit.
2. What we do not use
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics or measurement tool.
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social media pixels or share trackers.
- No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking of any kind.
Product images are currently served from a manufacturer content delivery network. Loading an image can involve that provider seeing your IP address and browser details, as with any image on the web, but it does not set tracking cookies through this site.
3. How to control cookies and local storage
You can delete or block cookies and clear local storage through your browser settings. Clearing site data for this website will sign out any management session and empty a saved wishlist on that device.
- Most browsers let you view and delete cookies and site data from their privacy or security settings.
- You can also use your browser's private or incognito mode, which discards this data when you close the window.
Because the storage described above is either strictly necessary or set only when you use a feature, blocking it will not stop you reading the site, but the wishlist and the sign-in area will not work.
4. Contact
